The tabor series consists of very deep, moderately well drained, very slowly permeable soils on uplands. They have grayish brown and very pale brown fine sandy loam surface layers and brownish yellow clayey subsoil that are mottled with gray, light gray, and yellowish red. The soils formed in acid to alkaline clays and sandy clays interbedded with sandier materials.
